“I feel strongly that the things we collect/buy/accumulate throughout our lives can often be representations of memories or events that are important to us. I think that we also gravitate towards things that “speak to us”, things that are relatable and that we subconsciously choose to represent us.”

Marisa Musing
London / Paris
Sculptor, Digital
Marisa Müsing is an artist and cyber thinker exploring the entanglements of body, digital identity, and archaeological history through feminist lenses across digital and sculptural media.
They are pursuing a PhD at the Royal College of Art (RCA) on queer cyberfeminist re-readings of ancient Pompeiian frescoes, and are a tutor in the MA Architecture Advanced Design Studio ADS8 at the RCA. Working across digital animation, sculpture, film, textile, and metallurgy, their practice builds imaginative worlds from the tensions between online and embodied life, between diasporic memory, archaeological histories, and the selves we construct in real time.
Marisa has exhibited their work at the Royal Academy of Arts, Fringe Arts Bath, the British Academy, Salone del Mobile, New York Design Week, Collectible Art Fair, SOFTER, Ethereal Maison, Restless Egg, Joys Gallery, Xpace Cultural Centre and Espace Temps, and have been featured in Everyone Is a Girl, Toe Rag Magazine, Glitch Magazine, Hypebae, WGSN, Dezeen, Vogue, and the New York Times.
